Our research targets central issues in evolution with medical importance. We develop novel methods in microbial genome engineering with the aim to study antibiotic resistance with unprecedented detail. Another focus of my group is microbial evolutionary genomics. We study dosage balance hypothesis, compensatory evolution and the role of phenotypic heterogeneity.
