Meiotic recombination and pairing

I have always been interested in the basic mechanisms that govern chromosome behavior during meiotic and mitotic divisions. Therefore I introduced Sordaria macrospora as a powerful system for cytogenetic and molecular analysis of chromosome dynamics. Current research includes: processes governing crossover patterning and interference; the evolutionary link between centrosome and synaptonemal complexes; roles of non-coding RNAs during meiosis.
