Our team studies host defenses of the genetic model organism Drosophila melanogaster against infections. We are investigating host-pathogen relationships using various microorganisms (bacteria and fungi). A major interest lies in the study of intestinal infection models using the Gram-negative bacteria Serratia marcescens and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, with a focus on resilience mechanisms that allow enterocytes to recover from pathogen attack.
