Myelin-axonal interactions in health and disease

My group analyses the molecular mechanisms that regulate the functional architecture of myelinated nerve fibers, with a focus on axoglial interactions in the mammalian central nervous system in health and disease. We examine how these interactions, involving myelin, adhesion molecules and their partners, are affected in demyelinating conditions, advancing our understanding of the molecular disruptions in neurodegenerative disorders.
