My group aims to understand how cell competition impacts on tissue colonization. We use Drosophila, mammalian cells in culture, genetics, omics and cell biology to investigate the mechanism of action of cell competition in health and disease. We aim to control tissue colonization outcomes for therapeutic applications, specifically to inhibit tissue colonisation of cancer cells and to promote tissue repopulation in regenerative medicine.
