We showed that chronic oxidative stress accelerates aging and increases tumorigenesis and metastasis, by deeply modifying stroma. However, this stress can also improve chemo-sensitivity. We identified different mechanisms involved linked to metabolism, autophagy, DNA repair that helps tumor cells to escape from chemotherapy. Altogether, our data deciphered the pros and cons of oxidative stress with translational applications for cancer patients.
