Our aim is to develop protective or regenerative therapies for neurodegenerative diseases, especially Parkinson´s Disease, by understanding their pathophysiology. In particular, we study the role of inflammation to identify molecular targets for neuroprotection, and to increase the efficacy of transplantation of iPS-derived neurons. In addition, we investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying neurological disease using patient-derived iPS-cells.
