My group is interested in the formation and integration of new cells in the adult brain. We are currently investigating the in-vivo heterogeneity of adult neural stem cells, how intrinsic and extrinsic signals regulate their quiescence and activation, and the role of long-range signals and physiological states, including signals from the cerebrospinal fluid, the vasculature and neural circuits, in regulating different pools of stem cells.
