Dendritic cells (DCs) and macrophages form a heterogeneous group of immune cells that are critical agents in the induction and regulation of immune responses and potential targets of immunotherapeutic interventions. We aim to more precisely define murine and human DC and macrophage subsets, in terms of their cellular ancestry and their differentiation program in order to delineate their specific immune functions.
