My lab studies the molecular mechanisms that control cell migration and viral infection. Specifically, we focus on how the cell motility machinery in migrating cells is regulated by the actin cytoskeleton. In addition, we aim to elucidate evolutionarily conserved assembly mechanisms in pleomorphic viruses. To this end we combine in-situ structural biology with functional cell biology assays, biochemistry, and image processing.
