My lab is involved in the dissection of the molecular pathways regulating autophagy during vertebrate development and in a number of pathological conditions. In this context, we aim at unravelling the mechanisms of autophagosome formation and its cross-talk with both apoptosis and the cell cycle machinery. Also, we work on the molecular network regulating synaptic degeneration and involving non-apoptotic roles for death-related molecules.
