My group uses the mouse embryonic and adult brain as models to address how the development of neural lineages is controlled by intrinsic genetic programmes and extracellular signals. We use a variety of genetic, genomic and imaging approaches to determine how interactions between transcription factors and signalling pathways regulate the different steps of neurogenesis, from the divisions and fate specification of stem cells to the migration and differentiation of neurons.
