My research focuses on the biological functions of distant cis-regulatory elements and on the mechanisms that control how they interact with surrounding genes. We study how genetic, genomic and epigenetic information shape the spatial organisation of the genome in the nucleus so as to enable, restrict and regulate these regulatory interactions. We also study how perturbations of the underlying mechanisms can contribute to human pathologies
