In my research I develop theoretical approaches to investigate principles and mechanisms that govern the spatiotemporal organisation of cells and tissues. Examples are the dynamics of the cell cytoskeleton, the condensation of RNA and proteins in liquid like phases, or the shaping of tissues during development. Understanding such processes requires concepts from soft matter physics and the physics of active matter.
