My lab studies how the human innate immune system employs specialized sensor proteins to detect infection and danger signals. By characterizing these sensor proteins and their downstream effectors in detail in healthy and disease states, we hope to develop better therapeutic approaches to treat inflammatory and autoimmune disorders.
