Chromatin architecture regulates gene expression and genome stability. My group combines genomics, genetics, live imaging, biochemical and structural approaches to study how histone variants function as integrators of chromatin activity. We use the model plants Arabidopsis and Marchantia to ask how chromatin architecture evolved and influenced evolution of eukaryotes.
