Our lab is interested in how DNA damage affects mammalian physiology in development and disease. We study mice with inborn or cell type-specific defects in genes involved in nucleotide excision repair (NER) and/or transcription. This allows us to delineate the functional role of genome maintenance in molecular pathways associated with longevity and age-related pathology, including inflammation and cancer.
