We study expression, structure, function, cell biology and evolution of transporters. Aspergillus nidulans and Saccharomyces cerevisiae serve as our model systems for identifying molecular mechanisms involved in structure-function relationships, membrane trafficking, endocytosis and protein turnover. We are also interested in rational antifungal drug design base don purine transporters.
Keywords: Transporter specificity & structure / membrane trafficking / genetics / Aspergillus / nucleobases / regulation / molecular evolution / endocytosis
