Our research is focussed on elucidating the mechanism controlling axonal transport, a process that functionally connects distal compartments of a neuron, such as synapses, with events occurring in the cell body. Our findings demonstrated that defects in axonal transport constitute a major pathogenic mechanism in neurodegenerative disorders.
