Our research efforts are focused on control of epithelial tissue homeostasis and squamous carcinogenesis. We investigate the role of Notch signaling in promoting keratinocyte differentiation and tumor suppression. Concomitantly, we are exploring an entirely novel function of CSL, the key effector of canonical Notch signaling, as a repressor of stromal fibroblast to cancer associated fibroblast (CAF) conversion and associated expanding 'cancer fields' (field cancerization).
