Our group investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying microRNA-guided gene silencing in mammalian cells. We focus on its regulation by RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) and post-translational modifications. Furthermore, we investigate disease-associated non-coding RNAs and RBPs (RNPs) as well as chemical RNA modifications including m6A and various tRNA modifications. Recent discoveries led us into the field of non-coding RNA-encoded microproteins.
