Mechanism & evolution of the translation machinery

Since the beginning of my scientific career (1964), I have been interested in the biogenesis and functions of RNA and proteins in organisms of the 3 biological domains – in particular the molecular basis of accuracy and efficiency of translation process, the importance post-transcriptional maturation, modification and editing of RNA, the evolution of the genetic code and the origin of life.

Keywords: RNA editing & modification / translation / genetic code / evolution & origin of life / archaea
