Cell cycle control in fission yeast

Our interests lie in the control of cell cycle progression. More specifically we are interested in understanding how signals from the spindle pole drive mitotic commitment in fission yeast. We study pathways controlled by the mitotic kinases Polo, NIMA and Aurora, alongside an analysis of spindle pole components that appear to act as platforms for cell cycle signalling pathways and the protein phosphatases that counteract mitotic kinases.
