Origin of multicellular animals
The aim of our lab is to understand how multicellular animals evolved from their unicellular ancestors. To this end, we work with the closest unicellular relatives of animals with the aim to reconstruct, using comparative and functional genomics, the specific genetic mechanisms responsible for this transition.
