My research uncovers fundamental mechanisms governing mitochondrial-nuclear communication, electron-transfer pathways, and biomolecular condensate dynamics. Using structural, biophysical and cellular approaches, we reveal unexpected functions of cytochrome c in nuclear signaling and DNA damage responses, and establish how post-translational modifications shape phase separation and protein-RNA interactions in health and disease.
