The projects of our institute deal with the functional organization of the cell nucleus during the cell cycle and differentiation in normal and diseased cells. Our research is focused on chromatin structure, organization and dynamics at organizational levels ranging from the nucleosome to chromosome territories, and on the nucleolus. Results are obtained using a combination of up-to-date molecular and imaging approaches employed in mammalian/human cells and model invertebrate organisms.
