Cell fate decisions and development variability
We study cell fate decisions in health and disease by using and developing methods in single-cell genomics, including approaches for high-throughput lineage tracing. Our main scientific questions are related to variability of cell fate decisions: How variable is unperturbed vertebrate embryonic development? How are external perturbations corrected during development? Which mechanisms allow adult organs to regenerate after injury?
