Our lab pioneered the use of nanobodies as tools in structural biology. The elucidation of the first GPCR structures in the agonist-bound active state demonstrate the power of nanobodies to stabilize protein conformational states and their complexes, including transmembrane signalling complexes. Our recent work focusses on nanobody-enabled drug discovery and on engineered nanobodies for applications in single particle cryo-EM.
