Cell cycle and cell morphogenesis in bacteria

I am interested in the cell cycle and cell morphogenesis, and approach this using simple tractable bacterial systems. My main research contributions have been in working out the regulatory pathways controlling endospore formation, and the central mechanisms of cell wall synthesis, cell division and chromosome segregation in bacteria. I have a long-standing interest in the discovery and development of novel antibiotics.
