My group investigates the functions of ribonucleoprotein complexes (RNPs) in mammalian cells, focusing on their roles in neuronal differentiation. We developed iCLIP and hiCLIP, methods that identify protein-RNA and RNA-RNA interactions in living cells. Thereby, we gain insights into the diverse transcriptome-wide functions of RNPs, their dynamics and evolution. We also study how aberrant RNPs contribute to age-related neurologic diseases.
