My group uses computational tools to understand the mechanisms that underlie cell fate decisions. Since such decisions are ultimately made at the single-cell level, this requires assaying molecular characteristics of individual cells, a process made possible by advances in the field of single-cell genomics. Our group develops statistical methods for analysing data from such experiments and uses these to study early development and cancer.
