Our laboratory exploits both transgenic mice and human genetics to understand more about pain pathways, particularly in the peripheral nervous system. The control of gene expression in peripheral sensory neurons, mechanosensory channels and modality-specific wiring in the central nervous system are all major topics of interest. We are also involved in novel analgesic drug development studies.
