My lab works in plant intracellular immune receptors, and the pathogen effectors that they detect. How is recognition accomplished? What are the first molecular events that occur post recognition and that lead to defense activation and resistance? We are also interested in the diversity of immune receptors in genomes and in populations, and in tapping into that diversity to elevate disease resistance in crops such as potato.
