My current research is focused on host-pathogen interactions, innate immunity and development processes in the model nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. Bacterial pathogens provide powerful tools for investigating host defences and infection mechanisms, and shed light on nematode surface properties, biochemistry and drug sensitivity. As well as the C. elegans host, both familiar and novel bacterial pathogens of nematodes are being studied
