We focus our research on the Drosophila adult progenitor cells as a paradigm for cell plasticity, multipotency and reprogramming in vivo. These issues are extensively studied in biomedicine research, but, in my opinion, we lack a critical biological knowledge due to an insufficient study of these issues in the physiological context in the full organism. To this end, we are exploiting naturally occurring progenitor cells in the Drosophila larva.
