The goal of my lab is to understand how the behavior of living systems (cells, tissues and organisms) emerges from the interactions among their components (genes and proteins within cells, and cells within tissues and organisms). To that end we use the nonlinear and dynamical character of living matter as a constraint to identify the principles underlying the functionality of organisms, from bacteria to humans.
