Transcriptional variation, cell fate & plasticity

My lab is interested in the transcriptional basis for pattern formation in early mammalian development. We seek to understand how transcriptional heterogeneities arise via the interface of signaling with enhancers; how transcription factors encode differentiation potential and recall lineage history or more generally support plasticity; and how ubiquitous requirements, such as energy consumption, can be translated into specific transcriptional read outs.
