We study how bacterial physiology is shaped by the environment with a focus on the plant microbiota. We perform functional analyses at different hierarchical scales, from the level of metabolites and proteins, to individual cells, to bacterial interactions and plant-microbe interactions. Our research involves complementary approaches such as metabolomics, proteomics, synthetic community analyses and single cell analysis using FluidFM.
