Interspecies cell-cell signaling in bacteria

My main research focus is interspecies cell-cell communication in bacteria and its role in beneficial and hostile interactions with the host. I use biochemical and genetics approaches to decipher the molecular basis of signaling processes such as quorum sensing and determine their role in regulating assembly, maintenance, and recovery of bacterial consortia. I aim to understand the consequences of these processes in symbioses and pathogenesis.
