Developmental genomics and skeletal biology
My research focuses on molecular mechanisms in development of the inner ear and skeletal system and associated congenital/degenerative disorders. We use developmental genomics to identify progenitors and molecular regulators of chondrocyte plasticity in contributing to bone biology. By directed differentiation of embryonic stem cells to skeletal and intervertebral disc lineages, we aim to provide insights relevant to human development.
