Molecular biology of the brain-mind connection
Our laboratory aims at an understanding of molecular and cellular foundations of brain-mind connection both under physiological (learning and memory) and pathological (neuropsychiatric: addiction, schizophrenia, epileptogenesis, autism) conditions. Our discovery over 35 years ago that learning produces a robust and transient activation of c-fos gene expression led us to study today extracellular proteolysis at the synapse in health and disease.
