Role of neuropeptides in learning and memory

Our lab uses genetically tractable organisms, in particular the nematode C. elegans, to study the in-vivo roles of neuropeptide signalling in the brain. In particular, our focus is to unravel the evolutionarily conserved functions of neuropeptides in learning and memory across the animal kingdom. The importance of neuropeptide modulation to the functioning of the nervous system may lead to crucial insights into neurological diseases and ageing.
