Our group is interested in understanding the mechanisms by which organ size and shape are determined. We use differential development of wing and haltere in Drosophila as a model system to study cellular and molecular events regulating epithelial morphogenesis, results of which have implications for understanding human cancer. We also investigate molecular changes that are associated with the evolution of flight appendages in diverse insect groups.
