My laboratory aims to understand the molecular mechanisms orchestrating the inheritance of the genetic material. The major focus of our research is the analysis of three protein complexes important for the high order metabolism of chromosomes during DNA replication, repair and segregation, namely cohesin, condensin and the Smc5/6 complex. We are also interested in cell cycle control and the role of chromatin during mitotic chromosome assembly.
