My lab aims to understand how transcriptional and post-transcriptional gene regulation are used during development to generate the vast cellular diversity that makes up an animal. We have been focused on two main questions: (i) what is the contribution of post-transcriptional regulators, such as miRNAs; and (ii) how do early transcriptional events during development impact the final fate of a cell and translate into increased cellular diversity?
