My group studies host-pathogen interactions, focusing on Trypanosoma brucei, a unicellular parasite responsible for sleeping sickness and nagana in Sub-Saharan Africa. Our investigations delve into the cellular and molecular mechanisms underpinning parasite tissue tropism and its ability to evade host immune responses. We also study the importance of RNA modifications in the regulation of gene expression.
