My lab investigates the regulation of neural crest stem cell biology during embryonic development and how neural crest stem cell programs are implicated in skin wound healing and skin cancer. We study mechanisms controlling cell fate decisions, how peripheral nerves reactivate embryonic programs during skin repair, and how neural crest stem cell pathways are hijacked in skin tumor formation, metastasis, and therapy response.
