We are interested in what makes the human brain unique. Specifically, we study human brain size determination through the use of in-vitro cerebral organoids. By generating brain organoids from various species and performing careful transcriptomic and genetic analyses, combined with functional perturbations of cell biological processes, we aim to discover the key determinants of human brain evolution/expansion and neuronal connectivity.
