In my lab, we are interested in how neural networks in the brain compute sensory information, decisions and subsequent behaviors. Moreover, we aim to explain fundamental properties of neuronal circuits, like the need to sleep. Applying whole brain activity imaging and quantitative behavioral recordings, we study the mechanisms and functions of neuronal network dynamics in the brain of C. elegans during locomotion and perceptual decision making.
