Evolution is the most advanced innovation machine. I am extremely interested to learn from biological systems to create new paradigms in science and medicine. My goal is to leverage synthetic biology to generate new basic principles to engineer biological systems, leading us to a new generation of tools to push forward basic science and novel therapies. We have two main lines of research: human genome editing and skin microbiome engineering.
